Dr. Brittney Franklin grew up in South Central Pennsylvania, graduating from Shippensburg High School at the top of her class.
She was involved in several sports, but especially competitive swimming, and was even able to compete at the state level.
She attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA for her bachelor's degree in biology, where she graduated with the highest honors in 2003.
