The goal of any new orthodontic patient visit is to get to know you!
We look forward to meeting you and getting to know a little bit more about what motivates you to seek a healthy smile.
While for most patients there is one clear treatment plan, more complex cases may involve multiple treatment options and therefore, deserve complete records.
Complete records consist of x-rays, photos, and study models followed by a conference to discuss the pros and cons along with the advantages and disadvantages of various treatment plans.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends the first visit to an orthodontist by age 7.
This may seem early, but Dr. Menjivar can evaluate for certain problems that, if treated, could avoid longer, more difficult treatment later on.
By the age of seven, most children will have the front four adult teeth on the upper and lower, as well as the first permanent molars.
With these teeth erupted, we can evaluate if there is adequate space for the other teeth to erupt.
In addition, we can evaluate the growth of the jaws to determine any bite discrepancy, check for crossbites, arch width, and dangerous flaring of the front teeth.

If you've never been seen by an orthodontist, now is the time.
Most girls will have all their adult teeth by twelve and boys by thirteen years of age.
Whether you're early or late to lose all your baby teeth, that's okay.
Dr. Menjivar will be able to assess your dental development and readiness to start braces and orthodontics.
The pre-teen and teenage years are an ideal time to have comprehensive orthodontic treatment when children are still growing.
Many patients will benefit from wearing elastics or rubber bands to correct the bite by improving the fit of the back teeth.

Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to sequentially move your teeth towards their final desired position.
Developed specifically for you, the aligners are changed every two weeks, worn full-time, and can be removed for eating.
