Dr. Bob Scholz, an Alameda native, started our practice in this location on the corner of Willow and Otis in 1967.
Dr. Jon Sammann joined the practice in 1973, and Dr. Johnson joined in 1984, with Dr. Scholz and Dr. Sammann retiring from the practice in 1987 and 1996, respectively.
Dr. Johnson has remained and was joined by Dr. Jolley in 2006, carrying on the longstanding tradition of excellence in the practice.
All four doctors have had strong ties with the UCSF School of Dentistry where they all attended both dental school and orthodontic residency.

Cari moved to Alameda with her family in 1986 from Oakland where she was born and raised.
She first joined our ortho family as a mom when her daughter had braces as a teen.
A few years later, she came to work here and is now our Treatment Coordinator and Office Manager.
Cari completed Invisalign treatment to get that nice smile she always wanted.
She and her husband, Tim, have two sons in addition to their daughter.
All three are now married, and Cari is thrilled to be grandma to two granddaughters and five grandsons.

He loves the discipline of orthodontics and prides himself on staying current in the latest technology and techniques.
Dr. Jolley has a bachelor's degree in dental science, a Doctorate of Dental Surgery, a master's degree in oral and craniofacial sciences and a specialty certificate in orthodontics.
That's a lot of learning about teeth!
He has also published research papers in orthodontic journals in the field of craniofacial imaging.
