Orthodontic insurance generally differs from regular dental insurance in that each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic services.
This benefit is paid at a percentage of the orthodontic fee until the maximum has been reached.

Seven to 14 days after you have separators placed, Dr. McDermott will place the appropriate appliances.
This usually takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours, depending on the number of braces placed.
Many times, upper braces may need to be worn for a few months prior to having the lower braces placed so as to avoid any bite interference with the lower braces.
After the appliances are placed, you will be given complete instructions on care, food and emergencies.
