Haack Orthopedic
Welcome to Haack Orthodontics of northwest Wisconsin, with offices in Rice Lake, Spooner, Hayward, and Ladysmith. Dr. Haack and his orthodontic team believe that excellence in orthodontics is based on the latest knowledge available, a friendly, caring environment, and a variety of treatment options rather than a one-size-fits-all philosophy. We offer you many choices for your treatment including metal and ceramic brackets, Invisalign, and limited treatment options when full treatment isn't desired or warranted.
Services
Our staff is committed to providing the best possible care for you and your family.
Dr. Haack's clinical assistants have an average of 17 years of chairside experience, and continue to grow in their knowledge of orthodontics through continuing education courses with the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists.
Our team enjoys meeting new patients and seeing the wonderful new smiles that emerge as a result of orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Jim Haack was born in Wisconsin but grew up in Kansas (kindergarten through college).

Dr. Haack is dedicated to keeping abreast of the latest treatment techniques by attending continuing education courses through the University of Minnesota Orthodontic Study Club, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Midwestern Society of orthodontics, Wisconsin Society of Orthodontics, and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists (MAO).
Orthodontic appliances can be made of metal, ceramic, or plastic.
They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth.
By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to a corrected position.
This is a great time to wear braces!
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth.
You can choose brackets that are clear or metallic color.
You can choose the color of the ties that hold the wire in brackets.
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before.
Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires.
With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces.
For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns.
Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing.
So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after.
Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.
More than 70% of orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to treat with Invisalign.
Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment.
Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem.
