Dr. Chmiel was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors.
She continued her education receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2004 at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York.
Dr. Chmiel attended the orthodontic program at the University of California San Francisco, receiving her Master of Science degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences and a specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.
