Services
I was born in Maine and grew up in the Binghamton, NY area.
I am married to Marie and we have two children, Sarah and Daniel.
We have a beautiful little kitty named Zoe.
Upon completion of my orthodontic training, we wished to stay in the upstate New York area to be close to family and to take advantage of the many great places and activities.
I like to snow and water ski, play golf, play volleyball, go fishing, boating, hiking, and camping.
I run to try to stay in shape and have completed ten marathons.
Dr. Michael Malsch will conduct a thorough clinical orthodontic examination and explain all aspects of treatment himself.
If orthodontic treatment is indicated at this time, an appointment for Diagnostic Records is scheduled.
The cost of treatment depends upon the severity of the patient's problem.
The treatment coordinator will discuss fees and payment options, during the initial exam, if treatment is required.
We have different payment plans to suit your budget and accept assignment from most insurance plans.
As a matter of convenience to patients, Dr. Malsch also offers an automatic draft from checking accounts or credit cards.
We will review all the fees associated with treatment and the financial options available during your complimentary orthodontic consultation.
It is our goal to provide the highest quality of orthodontic treatment that is affordable to you and your family!
Yes, there is a small fee, as the appointment is scheduled for 30 minutes with Dr. Malsch to evaluate the patient, provide education, and discuss potential orthodontic options.
As a rule of thumb, we like to evaluate young patients after the 6-year molars erupt and the front permanent teeth just start to appear.
This is usually between the ages of 6 and 8.
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that all children be seen for the first time by age 7.
The purpose of early evaluation is to inform and observe, more than to start treatment.
It's more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment.
Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning.
Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment.
