Services
Dr. Van Vliet is an orthodontist.
Orthodontists are dentists first.
Out of 100 dental school graduates, on average, only six go on to become orthodontists.
To practice orthodontics, Dr. Van Vliet spent 11 years in training (four years of college, four years of dental school, and three years of orthodontics residency).
The orthodontic student spends three years learning the skills needed to manage tooth movement and to guide facial development.
On top of that, our doctor is board-certified.
That extra training means you're getting expert care.
At Van Vliet Orthodontics in Highland, NY and Ramsey, NJ, we believe that your first orthodontic visit is your most important one.
The first visit to a doctor's office can sometimes seem intimidating, especially for kids.
But, your first visit to Van Vliet Orthodontics will be completely painless.
You'll be welcomed by our team, introduced to our orthodontist Dr. Van Vliet and shown around our office.
Our highly-trained, orthodontic treatment coordinator will then take some digital photographs of your teeth.
We want to fill the Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey with beautiful smiles, so we make every effort to make sure your treatment fits your family's budget.
There's never been a better time to consider orthodontic treatment, and we're here to discuss financial arrangements with you.
Your fees for orthodontic treatment depend on your unique treatment plan.
Once we determine your treatment plan, our financial experts will cover all of the details of your investment.
It's important to Dr. Van Vliet that payment does not become a barrier to achieving the smile of your dreams, so we'll work with you to come up with a payment plan that works for you.
Traditional braces have been around a long time, and they're probably the most recognizable symbol of orthodontics.
These orthodontic workhouses have a long history of successful treatment and are great at correcting many oral issues.
The brackets are durable and made from a mix of stainless steel, nickel, and other metals.
Brackets have little hooks or doors where a wire is threaded.
A bracket can be secured by closing the door, or by placing an elastic over the top of the wire.
This thin piece of metal runs from one bracket to another.
Ceramic braces are also referred to as clear braces, tooth-colored braces, or aesthetic braces.
They work the same way metal braces do.
Our clear braces are designed to be less noticeable on your teeth than metal braces.
They're smaller than ever and made of nearly invisible tooth-colored polycrystalline ceramic material.
These ceramic options will blend in well with your natural smile.
Though they're not completely invisible, and the brackets are about the same size and shape, they're much less noticeable than metal braces.
