Services
Welcome to Owens Orthodontics, the office of S. Ed Owens, Jr., DDS, MSD and Shannon E. Owens, DDS, MS serving Northwest Wyoming and Eastern Idaho since 1977.
Our main office is conveniently located in Jackson, Wyoming.
We also have satellite clinics in Afton, Pinedale and Driggs.
Our top priority is to provide you the highest quality orthodontic care in a friendly, comfortable environment.
We recognize that every patient has different needs, and we pride ourselves in the courteous service we deliver to each person who walks through our doors.
We look forward to meeting you on your complimentary first visit to our office.
During this time, we will review your medical and dental history and inquire about your specific orthodontic and dental concerns.
A thorough examination will then be performed which will allow us to determine whether orthodontic treatment is indicated to address those concerns.
Each patient's orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve.
Is treatment needed now or is it best to wait until jaw growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?.
Call our office as soon as possible if you break or loosen any of your appliances.
Please do not come directly to the office - by calling us, you will allow us to create a time to see you.
Even if you have a regular appointment scheduled, call us immediately to notify us if you need an appliance repaired.
Call our office immediately for advice if a bracket or wire is loosened.
The bracket may need to be re-fitted as soon as possible.
You may have a situation that requires cutting a wire or sliding a bracket off a wire at night or over the weekend.
With braces or other orthodontic treatments in place, it is important to maintain a good oral hygiene regimen throughout the length of your treatment, just as it was before.
Braces, wires, bands and retainers can all trap food particles and make it difficult to brush or floss away plaque.
Peroxyl, a hydrogen peroxide antiseptic mouth rinse, will reduce inflammation to your gums and cheeks.
Peroxyl helps to prevent infection and decrease irritation that may develop from your braces.
Rinse your mouth with two teaspoons of Peroxyl (half a capful) for one minute and then spit it out.
Straightening teeth is only one of the common orthodontic problems that orthodontists face.
There are many common orthodontic problems resulting from misalignments between the top and bottom jaw, and if ignored or not properly diagnosed in time, they can lead to other health issues.
If any of these look familiar or you have any questions about your or your child's bite or teeth, contact us today for an initial consultation.
An underbite is characterized by the lower jaw extending out, causing the lower front teeth to sit in front of the upper front teeth.
