Services
Our goal is to monitor our patient's growth and development and treat at the correct time according to scientifically backed research.
When we have the chance to see your child around age 7 we can treat at the correct time.
We would rather see a patient 5 years too early than 1 day too late!
Teeth that are not erupting properly can lead to many problems that are easily corrected when diagnosed early.
The overwhelming majority of the time, growth and development will be normal and no early treatment will be required - only monitoring throughout the eruption process.

I have worked in orthodontics for over 20 years.
I love meeting new people and especially getting to know each of our patients and their families.
I strive to meet the individual needs of each of our patients from the moment they walk in our office.
Outside the office, I enjoy working with the children and youth at Central Baptist Church along with spending time with my husband and two children.
I believe patient care should always be delivered with a smile.
I have been a Dental Assistant since 2010.

Orthodontic issues such as crooked or misaligned teeth aren't just unattractive, superficial concerns.
They can contribute to a number of more serious problems, including headaches, lockjaw, speech impediments, and bone destruction.
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children visit an orthodontist for a check-up no later than age 7. Schmitt Orthodontics follows this guideline and we've found it minimizes potentially serious problems.

Knowing how to properly care for your new braces is an important part of your orthodontic treatment.
Here's what to expect from your life with braces.
During the first week after your braces are placed, and after routine adjustments are made, you will likely feel some pain, soreness or discomfort.
You may take ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or other non-aspirin pain relievers while you adjust to your new braces.
A warm washcloth or heating pad may reduce the soreness in your jaws.
During the initial period of your treatment, it is common to feel teeth loosen for a time before moving into the correct position.
