Services
Dr. Michelle Katz is a board certified orthodontist who has reimagined the way people think about orthodontic care.
With greater attention paid to the patient's comfort, Dr.
Katz envisioned a relaxing enviroment where people could avoid the normal hassels of a traditional appointment.
After graduating magna cum laude from Cornell University, Dr.
Katz went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry.
During this time, Dr.
Katz volunteered in Nicaragua providing dental healthcare to communities in need.
Our team is committed to making your treatment as easy and enjoyable as possible, in a friendly and welcoming environment.
During your first visit, you'll get acquainted with the process and procedures for braces; we'll discuss your customized treatment options in detail, probable treatment length, and associated costs.
The initial consultation is free.
If treatment is indicated, we'll begin by taking diagnostic pictures, x-rays of your teeth, bite registrations, and impressions.
These diagnostics will be referenced throughout your treatment and used to monitor progress.
An orthodontist is a specialist within field of dentistry.
They attend 2-3 years of advanced training after dental school, focusing on tooth movement and facial development.
Early treatment allows us to deal with the cause, not the result, of a patient's orthodontic problem.
We focus on improving the skeletal structure of the face in order to straighten and align the teeth.
Early care will improve a patient's appearance and protect current and future teeth from possible damage.
We avoid potentially irreversible problems, remove interferences with normal growth and development, and encourage a more favorable growth pattern during the early years of facial skeletal change.
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends seeing an orthodontist by the age of 7 to see if your child can benefit from treatment.
This is an ideal age for consultation as the first permanent molars have typically come in by this time, and crossbites, crowding, and other common problems can be evaluated and addressed before they worsen.
Early treatment can sometimes radically simplify (and in some cases do away with altogether) later treatment.
It gives an orthodontist the ability to monitor the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent teeth.
Surgical orthodontics is a combined treatment by our doctors and an oral surgeon to correct jaw abnormalities.
These issues are determined after reviewing the patient's X-rays and models.
The orthodontist initially levels and aligns the teeth in the jawbone, then the oral surgeon positions the jaws into a more normal position to allow the bite to come together ideally.
This procedure results in the improved ability to chew, speak, and breathe, while also delivering tremendous facial aesthetics.
