Services
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that children see the dentist by their first birthday. Primary or baby teeth typically begin to grow by 6 months of age, so it’s important to have your infant’s first teeth examined right after they erupt to ensure their oral health is on track. Schedule an appointment at Sunray Pediatric Dentistry!
With additional education, doctors specialize in treating dental issues that are specific to children. The appointment is structured to help a child develop an interest and accountability toward their own oral health. Pediatric dentists are also highly skilled with special needs patients, making for more comfortable visits for both children and parents. Schedule an appointment at Sunray Pediatric Dentistry!
Preventive dentistry is the foundation for a healthy smile. With regular cleanings and exams, we can pursue and promote strong oral health for your child. Preventive dental care along with a diligent at-home brushing and flossing routine can help prevent dental issues all together. It’s these small investments in your oral hygiene that lead to a beautiful, healthy smile. Schedule an appointment at Sunray Pediatric Dentistry!
A tooth extraction is the removal of one of your child’s baby teeth. This procedure is typically recommended after a child’s tooth becomes damaged due to an injury or severe tooth decay. If your child is set to undergo orthodontic treatment or has incoming adult teeth that need room to erupt, a tooth extraction may be the right treatment for their smile. Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is an alternative to fillings for cavities. It uses a blend of silver, ammonia, water, and fluoride that kills bacteria and seals your child’s tooth, preventing further decay and keeping the tooth healthy until it falls out naturally. It’s typically only used for baby teeth because it will permanently stain the treated area black. Schedule an appointment at Sunray Pediatric Dentistry!
Tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease, and almost always leads to dental caries, more commonly known as cavities. In fact, most Americans have had at least 1 cavity by the time they reach adulthood. Fortunately, they are simple to treat, and easy to prevent. A dental filling can treat cavities within an hour-long appointment. And by making sure your child visits their pediatric dentist for regular cleanings and exams every 6 months, you can help your little one prevent cavities altogether. Schedule an appointment at Sunray Pediatric Dentistry!
Unfortunately, not all children have positive memories of the dentist. Some children may be more sensitive or find it difficult to sit still during treatment. But there are solutions that can make receiving dental care more comfortable for them. Sedation options are an effective way to give your child the dental care they need without the discomfort or anxiety that may come with their cleanings or restorative care. There’s no reason that dental treatment should be painful. And all it takes for your child to get started with sedation dentistry is a simple conversation with their dentist. My 7 year old had a horrible previous dental experience (elsewhere), and military life, the start of the pandemic, and sensory issues caused our four year old to never have seen a dentist.until today. We were welcomed with bright smiles, and cheerful voices. My 7 year old didn't even bat an eye during her x rays! My 4 year old who is on the autism spectrum and HATES things in her mouth (yes, even food), even allowed top X-rays.

Nobody in the office ever got frustrated with her, and the dentist was so non judgmental and the most calming presence. I was worried about being judged, and instead we are working with a patient care plan that works for us. Sunray Dental will forever and always have my business. THANK YOU!

I took both my kids here (4 & 5) and I can't praise everyone enough! It was my daughters very first time at the dentist and she couldn't have been more comfortable. The staff is kind, caring, patient, and most importantly efficient. I'm so happy with their experience and we will definitely continue our dental care here!

I've been going to Children's Dentistry in Mira Mesa for my 2 kids for almost 5 years now. I wasn't super happy with the service and honestly I didn't pay much attention. Until I realize I haven't seen the dentist smile for a single time for whole time. And the assistance makes repetitive comments without emotion like a robot, I always have to ask one more time.

Then I decided that my kids deserve a better dentist and found Sunray. Very glad that I did. The reception area looked so welcoming and looked relatively new. (I know how important/helpful that customers leave a review for a small business.) Dr. Hall was more like a teacher at school than a doctor. First he SMILED and welcomed me and my daughter (15-yr-old).

Then he answered all my questioned. After he examined her he came out to me and explained. No rush, no nervousness. You know the feeling, you want to ask another question but you get the feeling that doctor has to run for the next patient and you can't. I didn't feel any of this there. Lastly my daughter said he did the job very gently and quietly, so she didn't feel as scary/uncomfortable as the previous dentist. I'm glad she liked.

She goes to West View so she can walk after school! I scheduled a cleaning for both my kids in Aug. Highly recommend. p.s. Dr. Hall, please get more chairs in the reception. You are going to be very busy soon. Thank you so much!

Sunray is great! Dr. Hall is so professional, and he is a very kid-friendly dentist. He showed them all the tools before he used them, and let them taste the polish and fluoride, and see and feel how everything worked so that they were comfortable. The staff are very patient, kind, and professional as well. Both of my children, 2 and 4, were very comfortable and happy there. The office is cute and clean, and the staff are all wonderful. There are even TVs on the ceiling so

If I could give Dr. Hall and his staff a million stars I would! I have a special needs son who unfortunately needs a lot of dental work. My son has seen countless numbers of dentist who have done nothing but refer us to the next Dr after Dr after Dr. Dr. Hall is the first person to not only let my son do an exam on him. He is the first person to see my son as a person!

He took the time my son needed to get comfortable with the office, the staff, the equipment and himself. That was only the beginning. Dr. Hall made time that same afternoon to help finally give him some kind of relief from the current pain he was having. He extracted an infected tooth. Like I said that was just the beginning. My son never knew he got his tooth pulled.

He never even knew he had been shot with novacaine! Dr. Hall is absolutely AMAZING! He finally understood my plea for my son. He took care of the immediate problem and once that was done we were able to discuss the long term plan. Dr. Hall, unfortunately is not able to do all of the work that needs to be done but he didn't just pawn us off. His staff was right on top of it helping get the care he needed going forward. Thank you all so much for your care with my son.
