Braces use constant, gentle pressure, which over time, move teeth into their proper positions.
Your braces are at work every moment of your orthodontic treatment.
The two main components of your braces are - the metal brackets that are placed on your teeth and the main archwire that connects them.
Each bracket is secured to the connecting wire with rubber bands which we'll change for you each month.
Over time, the wire is tightened to pull the teeth into perfect alignment.
Treatment times usually fall between 18 - 24 months, but may vary depending on the severity of your case.

The temporal mandibular joint is closely integrated with occlusion (bite) and thus orthodontics.
Improper bite over the long-term can contribute to temporal mandibular dysfunction (TMD) with symptoms such as clenching/grinding, jaw & facial muscle pain, clicking/popping of the TMJ, locking etc.
A CBCT Image allows us to see the temporal mandibular join in 3 dimensions and accurately diagnose & treat TMD in conjunction with the occlusion or bite.
A CBCT image allows us to view in precise detail the teeth, bone and surrounding tissue -without having to estimate based off of a 2-dimensional panoramic & cephalometric x-ray.
