Services
Dr. Nerad is an award winning dentist who has provided exceptional pediatric dental and orthodontic care in Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, and the greater Tri Valley area since 1989.
He graduated with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles.
In 1982 Dr. Nerad was one of 20 candidates to receive their Doctor of Medical Dentistry dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Following dental school Dr. Nerad was one of two dentists in the United States to start a dual pediatric dentistry and orthodontics specialty training program.
Stephanie joined the practice as a dental assistant.
Her years of experience assisting are an invaluable asset to Dr. Nerad, our team, and the children entrusted to her care.
Stephanie uses her experience as a mother to help even the most apprehensive child have a successful visit.
Stephanie grew up nearby and still resides locally.
In her spare time Stephanie enjoys hanging out with her adult children.
Naomi answers the phone and makes appointments for your children so in a short time you'll recognize Naomi's enthusiastic and helpful voice.
Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age.
Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive.
If old enough, your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions.
For new parents, we follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry - "first visit by the first birthday".
Recognizing the short attention span of 1 year olds, we will demonstrate proper oral hygiene techniques, perform an exam, and discuss your child's eating, feeding, and oral habits with you.
Prevention is always better than treatment.
Brush your teeth twice daily using any soft-bristled tooth brush.
We also recommend the use of modern electric tooth brushes such as Sonicare and Braun for children needing extra care.
Some orthodontic conditions are simply easier to correct if they're corrected early!
Interceptive childhood orthodontic treatment is all about preventing more severe problems that may occur in the future and establishing the foundation for a lifetime of beautiful smiles.
If these problems are left unattended, future orthodontic care can be more costly and difficult with an inferior result.
Here at Dr. Nerad's office your child's orthodontic care can be started at the optimal time because your child's bite and smile is evaluated on his/her first visit and every further examination.
