Our primary goal at MacGinnis Orthodontics is to create beautiful, healthy smiles that will be valued for a lifetime!. Dr. Matthew MacGinnis is a board-certified orthodontist. Any general dentist who graduates from dental school and holds a license to practice dentistry can treat patients with braces or Invisalign. But to be called an "orthodontist, " one must be trained in a 2-3 year full-time specialty course at an accredited orthodontic residency.

Beyond the title of "orthodontist, " one can be certified by the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). To become a certified orthodontist, one must voluntarily submit and pass a rigorous written and clinical examination process, which can take multiple years to complete. Because less than half of orthodontists are board-certified, this really sets us apart!

Our practice offers a full suite of leading-edge orthodontic treatments with traditional braces, clear ceramic braces, mini implants (TADs), growth modification, and Invisalign, the "clear alternative" to wearing traditional braces.

Dr. Lee is an Orange County native and attended UCLA, where she graduated Cum Laude while majoring in Business Economics.
After working as a financial analyst at a Big Four firm, she decided that her passion was actually in working with people and making them smile :.
She decided to do a career change and wound up back at UCLA for dental school, graduating with honors from the Department of Orthodontics.
She was accepted into one of the top orthodontics residencies, UCSF, where she trained for 3 years in Orthodontics while also obtaining a Master's in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences.
All orthodontists must be licensed to practice, but at this time only 1 in 3 orthodontists have continued on to complete Board Certification.
The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certification process signifies a unique achievement-a significant step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics.
The process requires the orthodontist to demonstrate actual accomplishments in patient care with detailed case reports on the treatment provided for a broad range of patient problems.
