At your first visit to our office, Dr. San Martin will conduct a free exam for you or your child.
Diagnostic records will be taken which include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, photos, and digital X-rays.
The doctor will then carefully examine the teeth for a wide range of possible orthodontic problems, such as crowding, cross-bite, gaps, etc.
Based on this information, Dr. San Martin will determine if you or your child would benefit from orthodontic treatment and if it is the correct time to start.

While there is no exact age for children to begin orthodontic treatment, the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends visiting the orthodontist around age 7. Early treatment can allow Dr. San Martin to correct and guide your child's jaw, create more space for crowded teeth, avoid the need for extractions later in life, and correct habits.
