Services
It's recommended that children have their first orthodontic consultation at age 7.
At age 7, Dr. Chartier will be able to tell whether interceptive, or phase I, orthodontics is needed.
It's not recommended for the majority of children at this age, but when needed, it provides the foundation for a BEAUTIFUL SMILE!
Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile.
Today, almost one of every five patients in orthodontic treatment is over 21.
There are several options for orthodontic treatment from which adults can choose.
Traditional braces are always an option.
For those adults that would prefer a more esthetic alternative, ceramic braces are a great alternative!
If one qualifies, clear plastic aligners (SureSmile/Invisalign), as well as lingual braces, can also provide exceptional results.
Decalcification of the tooth enamel results can result in what many call "white spot lesions".
Don't be surprised, decalcification results from poor oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment.
It's most obvious once treatment is complete and the braces are removed.
White spot lesions will have a negative impact on even the straightest smiles.
Brush!
Great oral hygiene and maintaining regular 6-month dental check-ups with your general dentist will help prevent tooth decalcification during orthodontic treatment.
Although Dr. Chartier would prefer to meet you in person, he understands that LIFE IS BUSY!
Now, with a little help from you phone, Dr. Chartier can assess your smile needs and let you know what individualized care he would recommend.
Dr. Chartier will assess the information you've provided and get back to you with individual treatment options.

If a wire causes irritation, push the wire away from the area using the eraser end of a pencil or a Q-tip.
If the wire cannot be tucked away, cover the end of the wire with a small piece of wax, a cotton ball, or a piece of sugarless gum, until you can come into the office for an adjustment.
If the main wire has come out of the tube or pipe on your back molar tooth, attempt to reinsert the wire with a pair of needle nosed pliers or tweezers.
If the wire is not sticking you, place a piece of wax over the area.
