The Northeastern Society of Orthodontists (NESO) is a not-for-profit professional member association. It is comprised of orthodontists who are members in good standing of the AAO and have a principal location of professional activities in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and the Canadian provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Continuing education remains central to the value NESO provides to members. An online platform will offer a library of new virtual education throughout the year through webinars and podcasts, eligible for CE where indicated. Purpose: It is a primary objective of NESO's formal Mission Statement to "Encourage and Sponsor Research."
This program will serve to further enhance and encourage a collaborative relationship between NESO and the orthodontic training programs in our region while awarding and supporting residents in training.
Funds will be awarded to residents in orthodontic training programs within the NESO constituency boundaries.
Applications for awards must be approved by the orthodontic program chair or program director and will consist of a one-page research proposal describing the overall project, aims, and methodology.
