Dr. Renee Moran, our Denver orthodontist and bite correction expert, believes that orthodontics should be more than just a cosmetic service. That's why, at Foundations Orthodontics, we take a holistic approach. While conventional orthodontic treatment focuses on straightening the teeth with braces or Invisalign, we pride ourselves in accounting for the whole picture of health and beauty.
We spend the time to create a truly customized treatment plan for you that includes bite and jaw alignment, in addition to giving you a spectacular-looking smile. This enables us to address any potential problems with your TMJ, sleep-disordered breathing, and overall bite function. While we treat patients of all ages, including adults and teenagers, we also offer preventative orthodontics for kids in order to stop more serious problems from occurring altogether.
As one of the top orthodontic offices in Denver, our goal, regardless of your age, is to leave you with a healthy and strong FOUNDATION for your beautiful new smile!

Doctors in dentistry who are known for their knowledge of function, all agree that the relationship between the teeth and jaw joints is the primary key to long term health and stability of the chewing system.
Most orthodontists focus primarily on tooth alignment and do not correct the functional relationship between the teeth and jaw joints- this is where our doctor differs.
Dr. Moran follows the Roth/Williams philosophy which states that orthodontic treatment can, and should, be more than just straightening teeth.

We all have a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) on either side of the face.
The complex facial joints connect the jawbone to the skull and are capable of both sliding and hinge motions.
The TMJ works in concert with other parts of your anatomy, including the jawbones, facial and neck muscles, tendons, and teeth.
This larger system allows us to do a number of different things, such as chew, open and close the mouth, speak, breathe, swallow, suck, and make a variety of facial expressions.
While patients sometimes call problems in the joint and surrounding structures TMJ, TMJ is an acronym for the joint itself.
