We want everyone to feel comfortable from the very first visit to our office.
Usually, the first appointment is not very long and relaxed, but informative.
During this visit, you will meet Dr. Chung and our friendly staff.
We will listen to your concerns, perform an initial clinical examination, and assess whether there is a need for orthodontic treatment.
In the case of a child, the parent will be informed of whether the child is ready for orthodontic treatment at this time.
Often times, a clinical exam is enough to determine whether orthodontic treatment is necessary or helpful.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children to receive an orthodontic evaluation no later than age 7. Usually by this age, the first permanent molars have erupted allowing the anteroposterior and transverse occlusal relationships to be evaluated.
Also, permanent incisors start to erupt.
This does not necessarily mean that treatment should be started at this age and often times, if treatment is needed, it is not initiated until later.
