There is never a charge for your initial consultation.
The initial consultation includes a comprehensive examination, a panelipse x-ray, review of the clinical diagnosis, and a detailed discussion by Dr. Sekijima of your treatment options with the benefits of each.
Dr. Sekijima will also estimate treatment time, costs, and type of braces or other orthodontic appliances.
For your convenience, if treatment is indicated, diagnostic records can often be taken on the same day.
These records include digital facial and dental photos, digital x-rays, and plaster study models.

While wearing a retainer is very simple it is a very complex and powerful appliance.
A retainer is designed to keep your teeth where your braces moved them.
Wearing your retainer as instructed is the key to maintaining success of your orthodontic treatment.
Baby molar teeth, also known as primary molar teeth, hold needed space for permanent teeth that will come in later.
When a baby molar tooth is lost, an orthodontic device with a fixed wire is usually put between teeth to hold the space for the permanent tooth.

Patients are seen by appointment only.
We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us.
If you must change an appointment, please notify us at least twenty-four hours in advance so that we can offer that appointment time to another patient.
We schedule certain types of appointments at specific times of the day to best accommodate all of our patients.
This system allows us the flexibility to arrange the very quick adjustments for the maximum number of patients during the after school and before work times.

There are very few true orthodontic emergencies.
Most problems can be easily handled at home.
However if the emergency includes trauma to the teeth please call your general dentist or Dr. Sekijima.
Brackets are the parts of braces attached to teeth with a special adhesive.
They are generally positioned in the center of each tooth.
If the bracket is off center and moves along the wire, the adhesive has likely failed.
Call our office to schedule an appointment to have it reattached.
You may wish to put orthodontic wax around the area to minimize the movement of the loose brace.
