Dr. Swenson is excited to be working in an area he considers home!
He and his wife, Katie, both have roots in Southern Idaho and are happy to be part of such a great community.
They currently have four children: Millie, August, Hemsley, Rees.
Dr. Swenson received his undergraduate education from Utah Valley University and attended dental school at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
As a dentist he fell in love with orthodontics, and attended Iowa's Orthodontic Residency Program to become an orthodontic specialist.
Even though most people think of teenagers when they think of orthodontics, there are good reasons your child should get an orthodontic evaluation much sooner.
We often see patients for an evaluation and think, "If I had seen this patient at an earlier age, their treatment would be easier, and treatment time shorter."
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7.
Orthodontists can spot problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while baby teeth are still present.
There are several important reasons why these teenage years are the ideal time for orthodontic treatment.
Generally by the age of 11-13 the baby teeth have all been lost, and the permanent ones have come in.
This is a perfect time to begin correcting the concerns that lead to a bad bite and crooked teeth.
These bite concerns typically don't get better with age, and are easier to treat while the body is growing.
Every teen, however, is different and when yours is ready for braces we will evaluate and determine the type of braces that will give your child the best result for them.
No matter what stage of life your in, we are dedicated to finding a solution that works for you and your busy adult life!
Gone are the days of large, clunky metal braces.
Modern metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive than ever before.
Traditional braces are considered one of the best options for your smile because they are extremely durable, and effective for treating a wide variety of orthodontic concerns.
Clear braces work just like traditional braces but are translucent, ceramic braces that are preferred by many of our patients who seek a more cosmetic option.
